Matt made the Valentines for Liam to take to his class party this year.  They said: “I Choo-choo-choose you!” and featured Liam “holding” a train lollipop that was attached to the card.  Apparently this idea was all the rage this year as I found multiple variations on blogs that I read regularly (as well as Walker and Olivia’s class Valentines).  Here are a few of the shots he took of our little engineer:

It took a few shots for Liam to understand what we were asking him to do…but he was still adorable in the process:

Here’s the one Matt used:

Paige continues her mission to snatch the camera right out of my hands…

img_3781.jpg

“Oh, Mama, you may be faster than I am for the time being, but I’d watch out if I were you!”

Some days Paige refuses to wear pants.

“My goodness, Gran!  It’s Yoda!”

Getting down to business:

He went over to the Dark Side for the tasting…

“Dark Mater!”

Paige stuck with Yoda:

She approved.

I knew I couldn’t waste the opportunity to take the kids to the Gardens when it was 65 degrees in February.  Unfortunately, taking two kids to the Gardens by yourself and taking pictures at the same time isn’t the easiest thing I’ve ever done…

Most of the pictures were variations on this theme:

img_3833.jpg

“Bye, bye Mama!”

img_3837.jpg

When Paige runs away, Liam responds by saying “I won’t run away like Paige, Mama.  I’ll sit right here and smile for you so you can take a picture of me.”  The result is the Lifetouch-circa-1993 shot you see here:

img_3839.jpg

Paige is unaffected by Liam’s unintended attempt at reverse psychology:

img_3841.jpg

“Mama.  Why is the water not in my mouth?”

img_3848.jpg

“I couldn’t figure out how to work the water fountain and am therefore making my I’m-disgruntled-because-there’s-no-water-in-my-mouth face.”

Without assistance this was as close as I could get to a brother-sister shot, thus ending my photography attempts for the day:

img_3856.jpg

“WOW!  A plane!”

img_3880.jpg

“Who?  Me?”

img_3933.jpg

As much cooperation as my mom was able to get…

This picture (while not in focus) is for Grammie:

73 degrees in February and a swing in her backyard.  What more could a girl ask for?

My sweet, wild, wonderful girl with her sweet, wild, wonderful hair:

Lounging in the sun with her new shoes (that match her brother’s!):

img_3976.jpg

“Look, Ma!  No hands!”

img_3988.jpg

“Why would I go around when I could go over instead?”

img_3989.jpg

“Uh, Mom?  Are you getting a load of Paige right now?”

img_3990.jpg

Short sleeves.  Bare feet.  Daffodils.  February?

My own little Tom Sawyer.

Oh, this girl…

img_3996.jpg

“Hi, Mama!”

The day when we have to cut these curls is the day I die a little bit inside…

Those eyes.

And just like that I was caught up!
