Renovation Teaser

Since last Monday we’ve been spending our days at Gran and Granddaddy’s house because our house is undergoing a minor renovation (but any renovation is cause for removing Liam from the premises these days).

The dreaded wall is partially gone (life is one big compromise, isn’t it?).  I’ll post a chronicle when we’re all finished, but here are some pictures of me taking some long-awaited whacks at that wall.

There’s some fantastic symmetry about being pregnant again and finally getting to take some chunks out of that wall because during my last pregnancy it took everything I had to leave it alone.  Demolition is good therapy.

First Egg Dye

On Thursday Liam had his first taste of dyeing eggs.  I stripped him down in anticipation of the event, but as it happened he never touched any dye at all.  He did, however, immensely enjoy being allowed to run around in nothing but his diaper all afternoon.  Here are a few pictures of the event:

“Oh!  The anticipation is killing me!”

Week 16

I’m getting brave in my old age.  So in an attempt to document this pregnancy, in the hopes that this pregnancy will be lighter (in many ways) than my pregnancy with Liam, and in the vain attempt to release myself from the stigma that resulted from the last pregnancy I have decided to post pictures weekly from this pregnancy and from my pregnancy with Liam at the same point.  It might be completely nuts and it might be good (free) therapy.  It may be a little of both.  Here goes:

This is me at 16 weeks with Liam (WOW!  I sometimes forget just how tired I was…):

This is me last night at 16 weeks with this pregnancy (extolling the virtues of a good camera):

I might even go so far as to say that stay-at-home-motherhood is agreeing with me!  We’ll see if I’m still saying that next week…

Egg Hunt

This morning we headed over to Haygood and met up with the Moores so that Liam could participate in his first Easter Egg Hunt.  I had to head out for a haircut so I missed Liam’s encounter with the Easter Bunny, but I got there just in time to see the egg hunt commence.  Liam caught on pretty fast (although he was very happy with the stickers in his eggs, whereas Walker was smart enough to learn that if they didn’t make any noise when he shook them they didn’t contain any candy).  We even swung by the airplane park on the way home.  It was a good morning.  Here are some pictures.

I wasn’t there for the Easter Bunny part of the morning, but Matt said that Liam was very excited about meeting him until it was his turn…

“So you’re the Easter Bunny, huh…?”

img_4753.jpg

“Ummm, Dad?  I’m not so sure about this…”

img_4754.jpg

“This is as good as you’re gonna get, Dad.”

Walker and Olivia had their turn:

Liam apparently spent most of the time before I got there running around the gym like a wild man:

Gardens

To celebrate the gorgeousness that was today, Liam and I met up with Jessica and Walker at the Gardens.  I spent most of the time leisurely walking around with the decaf coffee I treated myself to this morning, but I snuck in a few pictures here and there.  Here they are:

Walker takes advantage of the world’s slowest slide and rests on the way down:

Touch-A-Truck Day

Today we headed to Decatur for Touch-A-Truck Day.  Liam really enjoyed himself until the other children found the horns.  And the sirens.  And began engaging in an unspoken contest to see who could make the most obnoxious noise.  At this point we headed over to the park.  Liam had a ball and I’ve got my fingers crossed that it results in a great nap.

We arrived early (I know, we were shocked, too…) so we decided to walk around the Square for a bit.  Liam loved the giant lights in front of the courthouse:

Gardens

The return of tolerable temperatures and sunshine means the return of our regular trips to the ABG.  We took the stroller, but it ended up just being a convenient way to carry our snacks and spare diapers because he ran for two full hours.  By the time we got him in the car (at around 11:45) he was rubbing his eyes and asking for his paci and woobie.  He was in his bed and out like a light by 12:30.  He had a blast, and so did we.

On the way we swung by Dunkin’ Donuts and got our usual pre-garden breakfast.  For Liam this means a bagel with cream cheese.  We handed him the goods and by the time I turned around again (about 10-15 minutes later) he was completely smeared with cream cheese.  These pictures don’t do it justice (let’s put it this way, we had to change into another pair of pants before even going inside the gardens), but here they are anyway:

Have I mentioned how ready I am for Spring…?

Sun!

This morning we took advantage of the good weather and went on a walk to run an errand and then ended up at the park with the soccer ball.  Here are a few pictures from the morning:
