As for his cake–yes, there was sugar in it–I actually used a cake mix and felt guilty about it until my mom said she did the same thing when we were little–she could have been lying but it made me feel better–and for the record even though there was a suggestion on the side of the box for substituting applesauce for some of the fat and adding to that that I have a freezer full of homemade organic applesauce–I just put the fat in and was done with it. I don’t think you have to worry about him getting his fair share of naughty foods…
