I was mistaken about Panda Bear, Panda Bear. I was confusing it with Polar Bear, Polar Bear. It’s funny, I can hardly tell the difference between them, but Liam prefers Brown Bear. I think it was the first one published, so maybe it is the best. Maybe a trip to the zoo would spike his interest in some other kind of bears? Or emus? “Emu, Emu, what do I see?” Somehow it doesn’t have the ring to it like “Brown Bear…”

As for The Hobbit–the reason I chose the link I did for that one is the same reason I can’t read it. Every Friday for years and years the people at the DDYMCA broke out a reel-tape version of that movie and tried to pretend like it was “movie day.” I ended up huddled up on the ground near one of the two windows reading books in the room where it was playing week after week because otherwise I would be forced to play kickball and this was obviously the better choice. So there are two points of contention–#1-Why didn’t they just call it “Hobbit Day” and be accurate? and #2-What would have been so wrong with letting a kid read or draw or do her homework in peace without forcing her to play a game in which balls were thrown at her head? Obviously–I don’t have any baggage, though, do I?

We actually don’t have Panda Bear…but if Polar Bear, Polar Bear is any indication it wouldn’t matter–he only wants BROWN BEAR (and he wants it again) (NOW)!

Oh, I will read Watership Down aloud, although the Hobbit is also a personal favorite. That should only take a couple of weeks before we start over.
