I’ve been wanting to get some good pictures of Paige during a bath for a while now. Â There have been several obstacles to overcome.
Number One: When Paige bathes in her baby tub she kicks buckets of water onto the floor and whoever has the misfortune of bathing her that day. Â My camera isn’t waterproof.
Number Two: Having both parents in the bathroom at the same time is necessary due to the fact that there must be a wrangler within arm’s reach of her at all times as she tries to flip over and (you guessed it) climb the side of the tub. Â Drowning isn’t cool.
Number Three: Â We have two children. Â One of these children may or may not do such things as completely unwrap sticks of butter, take bites out of them, and put them back in the fridge when left unsupervised for more than 30 seconds. Â Allegedly.
After looking around for a product that might help keep Paige safe while bathing with Liam we settled on a ring that ties around the waist allowing for movement and easier cleaning than the stationary seats. Â The reviews seemed to indicate that it worked well when bathing siblings. Â It wasn’t an overwhelming success (i.e. one or both of our children will most certainly drown if we attempt to bathe them together again anytime soon) but we’ll try it again at a later date. Â In the meantime it made for some seriously cute pictures. Â Enjoy!
Paige wasn’t entirely sure about this arrangement…
“Hey! Â Hey Liam! Â Whatcha got there?”
“Hey! Â Hey Liam! Â Is that my octopus?”
“Yep.”
“I WILL EAT YOUR FACE OFF!”
“Take THAT, Brother!”
“Who’s got the octopus now!”
Take two (substitute helicopter for octopus and Voila!):
Soapy, squinty, smile:
Our very own drunken pirate:
L.O.V.E.
Liam’s new ‘do:
A great shot of baby’s first black eye (from, you guessed it again, attempting to climb the furniture…):
L.O.V.E. (2)
I tried again for some epic shots on a later date (minus Liam to minimize the safety threat) but it wasn’t in the cards…despite evidence to the contrary:
What is it about baby buns that are so unbearably cute?
I call this one: Exhausted Baby With Ball
Apparently not too exhausted to make faces, however…
Solidifying my earlier points:
If Daddy ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy…
Sneaky even when being toweled off…we are in so much trouble.
Daddy love:
Nom, nom, nom.
This face kills me!
Hopefully I’ll get another shot at bathtime pictures again very soon!
